(Tech Cert; NCH (Arb); RFS Cert. Arb; CertEd)
Paddy established the business in 2005 after an apprenticeship with a woodland consultancy firm during which he gained his practical NPTC qualifications. He went on to study at Bicton College gaining a National Certificate in Arboriculture; after which he was employed to teach the practical elements of arboriculture at the College.
He continued his professional development whilst running the firm by completing the Certification of Arboriculture accredited by the RFS and the Arboriculture Technician Certificate at Westonbirt Arboretum. He has also undertaken a course at the National School of Forestry at Newton Rigg in Woodland Management, University of Cumbria. He hopes to use his qualifications to become a tree and woodland consultant in the future.
Rich completed a Geography degree at the University of Exeter. Coming from a farming background he knew he didn’t want to be indoors and always sought more rewarding practical work. He began working in arboriculture after his degree and loved the physical and technical skills needed to be a competent tree surgeon. He pursued this by setting himself up as self-employed and passing the various NPTC qualifications needed to climb with a chainsaw whilst using ropes up a tree. He has been working with Free Range Forestry since 2009 and formed a partnership with Paddy in 2011.
What Our Customers Say…
Brilliant service, very good quality wood very reasonably priced. Will definitely use again. Strongly recommended to all wood burning users. Paddy and Rich are polite, likeable and very efficient.
Great service. Delivered wood quickly. Were prompt and very friendly. Wood burns well. Highly recommend and will use again
We own three small woods and carry out a lot of work ourselves, so Faircloth Forestry (Now Freerange) only tend to get the tricky jobs! Their skills and knowledge are seriously impressive and their advice invaluable. I would recommend them without hesitation
